Bruce was a great guy, full of fun and always a tease! I remember when he had his car wreck on the road to Lake Butler and broke his arm, very seriously. The doctor put a pin in his elbow to "screw" the bones back together. I sat beside Bruce in the chorus at LHS. Each week the doctor would unscrew the pin in his elbow just a little so that it would protrude further out of his elbow. Bruce tried to poke me in the ribs with that pin, especially when we were standing, rehearsing a song we had learned. It saddens me that we lost him so young! His mother and mine were girlfriends in highschool. His mother is still a pretty lady with a warm smile just like Bruce's. He was a special friend!

Bruce was a pleasant person with the Britt Family's easy, beautiful smile. I Dove Hunted with Bruce on the Heidt Property next to Lake Hancock. He is in my mind's eye standing on the back of his pickup truck blasting away. Bruce was an excellent Wing Shooter, and generally many Doves went into his frying pan.The days spent talking and hunting at Heidt's Dove Shoots were some of the happiest times of my life and are wonderful memories. It is sad when one so young leaves his family and friends on earth. Bruce is one of my first Original Winter Garden Memories, and he is one of the good memories that I carry with me. PS I also recall that he was an accomplished carpenter and builder.
